Disentis, Switzerland

We are headed for a 4 day trip to Disentis, Switzerland. It's located in the Swiss Alps. My Nomie rented a apartment for us to stay in. We are going to spend our time hiking the alps! We are so excited. We'll post pictures when we get home.

First time in Austria

Me and my Dad's first time in Austria. He forgot the memory card for the camera so needless to say, there are no pictures. My Mom wasn't very happy. "Ugh" she said! There were so many great photo opportunities.

This is Lake Constance, Central Europe's 3rd largest lake. Surrounding the lake is 3 countries, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

Waldshut, Germany

Waldshut,
Germany is a small town that runs along the Rhine river. It lies on the border of Germany and Switzlerland. We came here for the famous German brats. There were a ton of different kinds of brats. My Dad ended up ordering a horse brat. Gross! He had no idea, and we won't tell Jenn.

The Rhine River

The Rhine river is the most important river in Europe. It's 820 miles long and discharges 2,000 cubic meters per second.
It's the coolest waterfall I have ever seen. Actually, the only waterfall I have ever seen.

Day at the Zoo

I loved looking at all of the animals!

We rode the train to the Basel zoo outside of Zurich. It was a 45min train ride and then we walked to to zoo outside of the city of Basel. It's great because we are able to ride the train everywhere. I get to hang out while we are riding instead of being stuck in a car seat. The trains here are great, nice and clean.

The zoo was a lot of fun!

First time swimming

First time swimming and I'm a natural fish. I loved playing in the water! We went to the coolest pool. It was huge and they had a nice play area for me.

Dad finally arives in Switzerland

I was so happy to see my dad after a week without him.
We were so happy we arrived 45 min late. He arrived early after his long journey. He was eager to get his hands on me.

6 months and adorable!

Since I have been in Switzerland my Mom has been giving me fresh bread every morning. The bakeries here make the best fresh bread. It's not the typical soft airy bread, it's got nice cruchy edges that help with my teething pain. My 3rd tooth is coming in. I'm a total carb fan! Yummy.

Girls day in the city

We spent the day shopping in the city. It was a great girls day out.
It's so easy to take the train into the city and jumping on the trams.

The city of Zurich, Switzlerland

Zurich is one of the most beautiful cities my Mom has ever seen. She comes a lot to see her sister and neices. My mom has been to Europe about 15 times and this is my Dad's 2nd time. I'm just happy to be getting so many stamps in my passport at such a young age. My Mom believes that traveling with me now will get me used to being on the go and seeing new places. I'm a trooper so far. I'm doing so good hopping on the trains and trams. We will be off to Germany and Austria in the next few days.

17 hours of travel and still full of grins and giggles!

Me and my Mom headed out to get my passport stamped. We are headed to Switzlerand for an entire month. We are going to see my Nomie (thats my aunte and her 3 girls). We had a long day ahead of us traveling all the way across the ocean. My Dad was sad to see us go but he will be coming next week. We left our house at 6am and landed in Switzerland at 8am (thats about 17 hours of travel, I know my Mom is so brave).
Our first flight was about 4 hours to D.C. We managed to get a free seat next to us and I flirted with the lady behind us the entire flight. It was so exciting that I didn't want to nap. We finally got to D.C. and everyone that sat next to us paid my Mom lots of compliments for me being so good. I thought phew we're done with this travel thing. Just to find out we were headed for another plane. We loaded up on a huge plane and got so lucky again with an entire row free. We spread out and got ready for another long flight (this one was 9 hours long). Mom says that the way there is always easier because you are so excited to get there.
My Mom nursed me during take off and it was supposed to help with the pressure in my ears. It must have because I was a happy camper. It entertained myself with these cool buttons on the handle of the seat. And this nice lady gave me all kind of cool things to play with like cups and pretzel wrappers. There was a nice old lady that would hold me everytime my Mom had to use the restroom. I giggled almost the entire flight and only took a 2 hour nap. My Mom said I was such a big girl. She was so proud of me for being such a good traveler.
This is just the beginning! I must be a traveler at heart.

Grass? What is this?

We had our first warm day, it was 60 degree's! My Mom took me outside to discover some new surroundings. The grass was pretty interesting. Big sis, Daisy was close by to make sure everything was A OKAY. She is the best big sis!

Thanks for checking in!

Hey, thanks for checking in. I'm glad someone is interested in my life. I've heard it goes fast. My papaw used to say "life with pass you by, in the blink of an eye." So, I hope you enjoy me while you can. Before you know it I will be all grown up. First it's rolling over, eating real food, sitting up, going potty all by my self (I sound like a puppy), then before you know it I'll be a teenager.
So, I leave for Europe in a few days. Yep, I'm going to be a world traveler. I'm starting young, I know! I'll keep in touch while I'm gone. Miss you all! XOXO!

Snuggles with Daddy

Isn't this the cutest thing you have ever seen?
My Daddy loves nap time with me.
A girl can't get much rest with all that snoring.

NOT!

Can you believe the nerve of my Mom?
I can't believe she would put me in this shirt.
She got the shirt from her friend Emma, from Ireland.
Mummy dearest!

What's up!

I have been so busy lately. Scooting, sitting up, eating, crawling backwards are a few of my accomplishments. The other day was so funny. My mom was doing laundry (she says it will be the death of her). She thinks that she is great at multi-tasking. She puts me down in the living room, when she gets back I have made my way to my Dad's PlayStation controls. Yes, I was able to scoot all the way across the room. She doesn't know it but when she goes to the gym Dad lets me play with the controls. She would have a fit if she knew what me and Dad do when she's gone. I love play station 3!
I promise mom, it won't fry my brain.

Dessa is 2 weeks older.

Did someone say peas?

Who knew that peas were so YUMMY!
I have to say that they are my favorite, Daisy's too.
Did you check out my teeth too?

March 12, 2008

I'm a sweet potato! First baby food.

Not sure who is more excited for baby food. Daisy or Me??????
When Daisy sees me in my highchair she comes running. Yummy!

The many ways I make myself laugh

Skin and Bones

They cook yummy food, they sit me on their laps, they bring the spoon closer, my mouth opens, and then the spoon by passes my mouth straight into theirs. They always eat with me sitting on their laps. I have even tried the drool thing and they still won't feed me. Can't you tell, I'm wasting away. I'm skin and bones!
The doctor finally gave them the A okay.
It's time to try some rice cereal.
My mom mixes it up with some mommy milk.
I sit in my high chair eagerly awaiting.
Not too much to smell but it's got to taste good.
My mouth starts watering.
And.............

Thats it???? Thats what it tastes like??
Not a fan, I'll pass on the rice cereal.
YUCK!!!

March 1, 2008

Sit Lily, Sit. Good Baby.

AHHHHHHH.
I might tip over.
Mom, Dad, where are you going????

February 29, 2008

Gigi and Papa G come to town

aka Arizona Grandparents.
They love to come visit me.
My Papa G was acting like a horse here.
It was so funny!

February 28, 2008

What can I say, I'm already 4 1/2 months old.

Where has the time gone? I have been so busy. I'm not sure where to begin. Well first off, I can totally roll over. If you lay me down on my back I can get to my tummy in a second flat. I can also sit up without any support (Early, I know!). I have two teeth and Mom thinks I'm getting more. I'm kinda fussy. I love to do Yoga, my favorite pose is holding my toes (they call that "Happy Baby".) I love the taste of my big toe and I can't keep it out of my mouth. Actually, all of them are yummy!
I'm keeping my Mom very busy during the day.
She's trying to work from home however; I bother her all day long.
I have realized that if she puts me down, if I cry hard enough she will come pick me back up.
So, I spend most of the day figuring out ways to get her to hold me. It's not very hard.
She tries to work and clean the house with me in the Baby Bjorn.
The other weekend she had to go work at the mall for Bobbi Brown.
It was going to be a long day! She doesn't leave me very often.
I decided that I wasn't going to let anyone give me a bottle (I was feeling pretty independent). I'm big enough now that I can hold it all by myself.
I don't get a bottle much and I'm not a big fan. I fight it till the end.
My Mom had fun playing in makeup all day but she was eager to get home to see me.
I have that affect on her and my Dad too.
I'm getting to be a big girl and I'm annoyed with nap time. I'm totally over naps. I scream when they put me down unless we go for a walk, then I'll take a nap. My Daddy thinks crying is good for me but my Mom thinks I"ll be scared one day. Nonetheless, I get a little moody when I don't get enough sleep. I figure the 12 hours I get at night is enough!
My Dad can't get enough of tickling my little chubby legs. He's always trying to bite at them or tickle them. He makes me giggle! He's really funny trying to make me laugh.
Well, life here is great! I have only been here 4 1/2 months and I'm having a blast! It's so much fun discovering all of my surroundings.
I'll try and make a better effort to keep you all updated on my daily life.
Thanks for checking in.
