We took Lily and Riley on their first camping trip. Our friends from Chicago also came for the fun. It was Kim's first time camping too! We just went away for the night to test out the waters with the little ones and we didn't want to shock Kim for her first time out. It was going to be quite the adventure with the 10 month olds and Kim was also going to be fun to watch. Kim is your typical Chicago city girl. She is totally new to the great outdoors. Not knowing what to expect she came prepared with her totes of gear in tow. Not knowing where to plug in her flat iron and realizing that we don't camp where you can shower she handled it like a trooper! She was quite the stylish one with her matching sweat suits and we had to die laughing when she pulled out her fuzzy pink hat and matching gloves. I felt like one of the boys when I wore the same outfit the entire trip.
The boys spent a few hours attempting to catch a fish but came back to camp empty handed. Us girls were left to take care of the kido's and the 3 dogs. It ended up being a down pour of rain the entire night. We spent 3+ hours stuck in our tents and trying to keep them from leaking. The tents smelled like wet dog and we ended up in puddles of water. It was not your typical camping trip but let's just say it definitely was a way to test out the waters or puddles at least. And most importantly, Kim said she would do it agian next year!
